Overview

A warm, flexible ski or snowboard day for travelers staying in the Asahikawa area. Each morning, your certified guide evaluates weather, snowfall, wind, and operations, then selects the best-riding resort for the day (e.g., Kamui, Asahidake, Pippu, Kurodake, Furano).

You’ll travel together in a comfortable family vehicle for a relaxed, local experience. Complimentary pick-up and drop-off within Asahikawa is provided solely as an ancillary part of the guided day and is not sold or represented as a transportation service.

If you are staying outside Asahikawa City, the guided day may start and end at your lodging when it falls within our standard driving radius and preserves adequate on-snow time. Otherwise, we meet directly at the resort. Point-to-point or intercity transportation services are not provided.

Pricing note:
Rates reflect a full day of private guiding with Asahikawa-based logistics, professional insurance, and safety practices informed by—and developing toward—ISO 21101 and ISO 31000. Risk decision-making is guided by U.S. Navy Operational Risk Management (ORM) and NOLS risk management principles.
No transportation fee is charged or itemized.

Important Information

    • Private guiding for 1–3 guests

    • Full staff day: approx. 08:00–16:00 (includes driving time and lunch window)

    • Daily, conditions-based resort selection (operations and safety permitting)

    • Complimentary local pick-up and drop-off within Asahikawa City (including AKJ at day’s end)

    • Pre-ride safety briefing and in-resort route finding

    • Off-piste terrain only where resort rules allow

    • Guide safety kit: communications, first aid, small tools

    • Limited small-luggage accommodation during the guided day (space and safety permitting)

    • Guest lift tickets

    • Guide lift ticket (reimbursed at actual cost; no markup)

    • Backcountry touring beyond resort boundaries

    • Available as a separate product

    • Personal travel and medical insurance (required)

    • Photo / video services (optional add-on)

    • Guide lift ticket: reimbursed at actual cost only

    • Paid same day via credit-card link with itemized receipt, or

    • Purchased directly by the guest at the ticket window on the guide’s behalf

  • Rental equipment and optional add-ons are listed separately on the Rentals page. Partner pricing is passed through without markup.

    • Wilderness First Responder (WFR) — Wilderness Medical Associates (or WAFA with supplemental training)

    • Avalanche education: Pro 1 / Operations Level 1–equivalent training

    • Resort and off-piste decision-making aligned with terrain, conditions, and resort policies

    • Companion rescue training at a minimum standard for all “Go With The Snow” guides

    • Certifications are stated accurately at booking without over-claim

  • When conditions, daylight, and safety allow, the guided day may be extended beyond the standard schedule.

    • Additional guiding fee: from ¥25,000 per extra hour (any group size)

    • Maximum staff day: approximately 12 hours

    • Intercity or long-haul transfers are never extended and must be arranged through a licensed operator

    Labor compliance note:
    Employee guides are subject to Japan’s statutory limits (8 hours/day, 40 hours/week). Extended days require overtime premiums and additional administrative filings. Owner-operator rules differ.

    • Primary pick-up zone: Asahikawa Station area and central hotels

    • Standard driving radius: up to ~75 minutes one-way

    • Stretch radius: up to ~90 minutes on clear-road days, while preserving a minimum of 4–5 hours on snow

    For guests staying outside Asahikawa City:

    • We may start and finish the guided day at your lodging if it falls within the above limits.

    • Otherwise, we meet directly at the resort.

    • Pricing remains the same for meet-at-resort days (no surcharge or discount).

    Compliance note:
    Local pick-up and drop-off is provided only as an ancillary component of guiding and is not offered as a transportation service. Airport and intercity transfers must be arranged independently with licensed operators.

  • Families are welcome. Children count toward the 1–3 guest maximum.

    • Little Human Add-On: from ¥8,000 per child, per guide day

      Quoted at booking based on age, needs, and pace.

    • Guests under 18 must be booked with a parent or legal guardian

    • Guests under 13 require a participating adult on snow

    • Helmets are mandatory for minors and strongly encouraged for adults

      • All guides wear helmets at all times

    Car seat requirement (legal):
    We do not provide child seats. Children under 6 may only join vehicle pick-up/drop-off if parents supply and install a Japan-compliant car seat or booster. Without a seat, the booking must be meet-at-resort.

  • We pay guides a professional, dignified wage and do not include gratuity in our pricing. Tips are never expected or solicited. If your day exceeded expectations, a discreet gratuity is appreciated. If not, a handshake and an honest review are equally valued.

    • Guests must follow guide instructions and resort regulations

    • The guide’s safety decisions are final

    • We maintain vehicle liability and passenger injury coverage, and professional guiding liability insurance

    • Personal travel and medical insurance is mandatory for all guests

  • Our Safety Management System is actively developing toward ISO 21101, with risk governance informed by ISO 31000. Operational decisions follow U.S. Navy ORM methodology and NOLS risk management principles. Transparency around safety systems is a core differentiator of our operation in the Asahikawa region.

  • Full prepayment required to confirm dates

  • Card-on-file required for reimbursable actuals (guide lift ticket)

  • Cancellation policy:

    • ≥14 days: deposit forfeited

    • 13–8 days: 50%

    • 7–2 days: 80%

    • <48 hours or no-show: 100%

  • Weather and operations may require resort changes, schedule adjustments, or early termination for safety.

  • If a full closure prevents rescheduling, refunds are issued minus unrecoverable costs, if any.
