Snow Shoes For You
Snowshoe For YOU is an experience-focused, learning-light introduction to Hokkaido’s pristine winter landscapes. Designed for guests who are not confident skiers or snowboarders, this private outing ensures you can enjoy the mountains safely and comfortably.
Overview:
Private Group: One booking reserves the experience for your private group of 1–3 clients. We never mix your party with other bookings.
Focus: An approachable, relaxed snowshoe outing that can be kept simple or developed into a higher-value, customized private winter day.
Location: We plan the site and route in advance based on your lodging and desired outcomes (gentle volcanic views, winter forest, waterfall courses), always prioritizing uncrowded, beginner-friendly terrain.
What's Included: Everything You Need
This program is a complete, private experience. The price covers:
Guiding & Planning
Experienced guide with wilderness medical training (WAFA/WFR or equivalent) and deep local knowledge of Asahidake / Daisetsuzan region.
Expert site selection and route planning based on your goals, comfort, and real-time conditions.
On-Snow Experience
Snowshoes and poles provided for all clients, reducing your barrier to entry.
Relaxed pace, professional on-snow navigation, and simple terrain awareness concepts.
Planned hot drink break at a scenic or sheltered spot.
Challenge by Choice approach—you can participate fully and adjust your level of challenge within the guide's safety limits.
Transportation
Door-to-door transportation (incidental to the program) for up to 3 clients within the greater Asahikawa / Higashikawa area.
What's Not Included: Client Responsibilities
Please note these items are your responsibility and are not covered by the program fee:
Ropeway/Lift Tickets: For both clients and the guide (if required to access the terrain). Clients cover these costs directly at the ticket window.
Food & Drink: Meals, snacks, and personal drinks (please bring your own lunch and water).
Personal Gear: Winter clothing and appropriate footwear (waterproof winter boots are mandatory). We can recommend local rental shops.
Insurance:Travel or personal accident insurance suitable for winter activities in Japan. This is mandatory for participation.
Formal Training: Any formal winter skills curriculum or certification.
Important Notes
Transportation & Access
The inclusive transport is intended for safety and convenience within the guided program's service radius. It is not sold as a standalone service.
Child Seats: Our guide vehicle does not have child seats installed. Children requiring a car seat cannot be transported and, therefore, cannot participate in this program.
If you choose to self-drive and meet on-site, the program fee remains the same as the guide must still travel and manage full logistics.
Food & Local Partners
We strongly encourage you to bring a simple lunch to enjoy in the quiet winter setting.
Add-On Meals: With advance notice and for an additional fee, we can arrange simple lunch boxes or meals through a trusted local small business. This supports the local community and provides a stress-free option.
Safety & Terrain
We operate in unmanaged winter environments where variable conditions (cold, uneven ground, deep snow) are expected.
Routes focus on gentle slopes, manageable distances, and conservative route choices, but winter travel always carries inherent risk.
The guide has final decision-making authority to adjust or shorten the plan based on weather, visibility, or snow conditions for your safety.
Booking & Payment
Full payment in advance is required to confirm your date.
All bookings are subject to the Asobi Master® / HKAM KK Terms & Conditions regarding refunds, rescheduling, and no-shows.
Sample Day Structure (Relaxed Pace)
Pick-up at your agreed location (or meet on-site).
Briefing: Introductions, goal review, and Challenge by Choice discussion.
Site Travel and initial on-snow equipment check.
Main Snowshoeing: Relaxed pace, photo stops, and simple commentary.
Hot Drink Break (and simple lunch, if you brought one) at a scenic or sheltered spot.
Return to the vehicle.
Drop-off and a brief end-of-day reflection.
